Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta has hit out at AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli for his lack of professionalism and feels the Italy international is wasting his potential.

Balotelli made an impressive start to life at Milan after joining the club from Manchester City in January, but has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons again in the past few months, much to the frustration of Batistuta.

"My thoughts on Balotelli? He's the kind of player who infuriates me," Batistuta was quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport.

"I was not born a footballer like him. I achieved what I did because of all the hard work I put in. I had to make sacrifices.

"Balotelli, and a few others, have everything that I would have liked to have. It angers me that he does not use his talent to his full advantage."

Batistuta scored 182 goals in Serie A for Fiorentina, Roma and Inter between 1991 and 2003.
