NLC Strike Latest Updates: Schools in Ibadan Shut Down, Students Sent Home
Reports reaching us from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, say teachers in the area are on the same page with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).Public schools had opened for business early on Wednesday. But as at 12 noon, teachers had downed tools in solidarity with NLC.
Many say the move will pile more hardship on Nigerians who are stuck with a pathetic N18,000 minimum wage while political office holders live in unbelievable affluence.
Talks between the NLC and the government had stalled after state officials proposed a new petrol price of N120 per litre which the NLC rejected.
