Mariah Carey created a media stir recently when the Pop diva made some cryptic comments about her time as a judge on American Idol. Speaking with Angie Martinez the “Fantasy” singer said the experience “was like going to work everyday in hell with Satan.”
The comments were suspected to be referring to fellow former AI
judge Nicki Minaj. The two performers had a really public feud that
played on the reality show. Carey’s husband Nick Cannon revealed to
Access Hollywood that he does not believe the Satan remark was aimed at
Minaj or any of the other judges.
“I don’t think her comment was about anyone on the panel,” said cannon. “I don’t think she was speaking directly about [Nicki Minaj]. I think she was talking about the situation in general.”
Carey mentioned during the Martinez interview that she was surprised when American Idol
producers decided to add a fourth judge on the show after she was under
the impression that she would be the only female on the panel.
